Listening to her Podcast - interesting....
-
Amy is so good.

Wade is a serious asshole. Damn. [shared file(s): Fauci Email Bolsters the Lab-Leak Theory - WSJ.pdf]

He's a piece of shit.

Can't believe the WIV had pangolins and there is serological evidence for SARS related viruses in these animals going back some years. Certainly a possibility that markets had them and we know from the gamey tastes project that sick pangolins were being sold across China.
-
I have a really hard time believing WIV had them - but I can totally believe the wildlife rescue center might have. Itwould provide SUCH an easy path - dead pangolin no good, let's sell dead pangolin to make good money > helloCOVID-19.

FCS is an Umbrella Man. Real scientists accumulate data - analysis - consider options - test hypotheses.
-
Yup, and you know what, that allows us to actually get to the bottom of how things work and not just rely on gutreactions.

Does he seriously want to know how she has questioned my research integrity?! [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2021-06-05 at 7.03.07 am.png]

No point... Also, Antonio is a giant idiot and works closely with Rowan Jacobsen, so I'm sure his story about Alina is going to bea love story about how she single handedly stood firm against conspiring virologists.
-
Hobsen's choice. Answer and you get sucked into the Alina BS and are still at the mercy of the reporter. Don't answer and you get sucked into the Alina BS and are still at the mercy of the reporter.
-
Yes, of course it will. He even answered his own question by mentioned the pangolin papers which she claims are dodgy. I'm not answering this garbage.
-
Third choice tell him you will talk to him off the record on background then send him all the Alina Bullshit. It would bemy pleasure to help you compile it.
-
Not answering probably the best choice of the three - let him stew. He really doesn't have a story re Eddie Holmes UNLESS Eddie Holmes responds.
-
When he wrote to me previously I said I was not going to talk to him because Rowan was giving oxygen to someone who has questioned my research integrity. I stand by that. I'm just not going to reply as anything is oxygen to them. When I wrote to the Broad I included these 3 tweets which are pretty clear:

I am an author of these papers and she directly mentions 'severe research integrity'.
-
However, Bob, if you have other good examples they would be great to have for the future.
-
I'll look -those are the most important...
-
You got the majors - here are a few others parked here for context. Angie may have some more it seems. [shared file(s): image.png, image.png, image.png, image.png, image.png]

She also asked Nick Loman on Twitter if I was an original author on the Nature paper. She's bloody evil.
-
Thanks Bob! She's spectacularly stupid. Look at the Boston Magazine: [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2021-06-05 at 7.46.09 am.png]

She claims that the pangolin virus may have been contracted from their smugglers. So, in 2019 before the pandemic started smugglers in southern China in were infected by a virus that is related to, but not the same as, SARS-CoV-2, and then infected pangolins.
-
Totally WRONG to say that the Lam et al. paper just uses the first paper's (Liu et al....published before the pandemic) data.
-
I've seen this behavior before - no compunction against lying - loves the spotlight - massive [undeserved] ego. She'llfly too close to the sun and the wings will melt - the crash will be hard - the problem is she can do and is doing a lot -a lot - of damage along the way.
-
Long game - the tide will turn - may sound trite even a bit arrogant - BUT we have science on our side. Of that I'm confident.
-
Me too Bob. Just makes my blood boil. Anyway, I'm going to ignore that journo.
-
Another common trait of this phenotype - they can get journos to write love letters. [shared file(s): A virus hunterfaces the big one_ Ebola - The Washington Post.pdf]

It's in these rare moments that twitter is actually of some value.
-
Love it!
-
Alex has some really good one-liners - I'm pretty sure he spends fifteen minutes each day saying, "alright, time tofuck with some of the nutters before a beer".
-
I'd do the same - probably with less finesse - except instead of 15 minutes a day it could well be 15 hours - it's thatobsessive thing...
-
That why no twitter for me.

I agree Bob. I'm now done with Twitter. Have deleted it from my devices.
