    Yeah, they should really get on it - metagenomic sequencing should be sufficient. It'll be messy, but not a lot of data needed to do meaningful IDs

    COI would be much more sensitive and there is the BOLD database

    It will be messy, but there should be enough to identify the dominant host and at least to exclude humans
