And one more - if CGGCGG had been 'strange' in SARS-CoV-2, we would see plenty of synonymous mutations (R has six codons). What do we see if we analyze the ~1.5 million genomes? CGG is found in 99.84% of all sequences at that site. Not exactly unstable. I can go to bed now. I'll spend some time on the rest of his arguments tomorrow. Just because it's fun...
