Yeah, I was really surprised by that difference as well - I thought they'd be about equal. Need to see the preprint itself so we can see the actual mutations
-
And B.1.351 is just dead dead - it's pretty scary.
-
Note that all of those mutations D80A [DorA?). D215G (DouG, Jr?),R246I (RidhI?) remove a charge (aspartic acid orarginine) - if you scroll back to initial discussions of Doug you'll see references that similar D mutations havecharacterized flu mutations in the past.

Yes, this is coming along nicely. Great work Bob. Let's try and get this sent this week if we can. It's coming along nicely.

Will do!

@Kristian Andersen yeah better to seem to release them as the result of an FOI

@Kristian Andersen Should I maybe release that one, redacting Mike's name? I'm kinda tempted...
-
@Kristian Andersen Let's see how this transpires. It's possible that USYD will reject the request. It's a long process.

I'm such an arrogant twat, but this kind of bullshit really needs to be countered - being an idiot doesn't prove that SARS-CoV-2 came from the lab. Matt and Alina - the perfect couple. [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at1.55.48 PM.png]
