Hmmmm that IS weird. Presumably though, if these reads are real surely they must be contamination from other sequencing experiments at WIV.
-
E.g., I know people found plenty of evidence of Lassa in GTEx individuals from the Broad... Obviously there was nooutbreak of Lassa in Boston - just the Broad doing its thing.
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure these are contaminants - you can see the reads via the raw SRA: https://trace.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Traces/sra/?run=SRR11092059 https://trace.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Traces/sra/?run=SRR11092060 https://trace.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Traces/sra/?run=SRR11092061 https://trace.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Traces/sra/?run=SRR11092062 Many other viruses in there too

I'm now your friend again @Kristian Andersen...I obviously unfollowed by mistake. :older_man:

Of course... It's okay Eddie - I want to unfollow myself as well

Have a look at this one: https://trace.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Traces/sra/?run=SRR11092059&krona=on

Let's hope that Hope was spreading things around on Trump's chopper.
-
LOTS of viruses in there - obviously contaminants. I'm surprised the tinfoil hats haven't picked up on it yet. YET.
-
Yeah - reminds me of the rotavirus in the BASV metagenomic data. Not going to stop the Alina' and Yan's of the world from building a mountain, Yeah they picked it up the DRASTIC crowd.
