I don't think so - that's kinda what I'm trying to figure out...

More from Daszak. I'm not sure if I'm comforted by the 15,000 bat samples in the freezer: "I keep making the point that the US taxpayer paid for us to collect 15,000+ bat samples that are now in freezers in Wuhan, and because ofthis fake cold-war we can't officially control the work on them. Zhengli's doing the right thing - we're acting just likewe were when the NIH grant was up and running, but if they decided not to answer my emails or wechats, we've gotno leverage. Dumb politics."

Also - just found this oldie but goodie. I believe the likes of eDim and Alina have forced me into a more extreme position.... Which I'll continue to defend! :punch:https://andersenlab.slack.com/archives/GTGL6LY5C/p1591918962047400

I remember that well! By the way, there are no prior publications of Shi using FCSs are there? So, if this were from the lab it would their first use on the mystery virus they've told no one about.

I'm getting a TON of shit because of Wade's article, so I need to look a little closer at all of this - just for my ownsake. I'm not going to respond to Wade, but I have colleagues at UCSD telling me that _they_ have been receiving Wade's article from _their_ colleagues. Some twisted shit.

Yes, ignore Wade. I wonder if they've (Shi) ever even published a natural bat CoV with a FCS?

    Probably the closest example: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26063432/

No engineering in this one, but also about cleavage. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31801868/
