I agree that human infection (maybe HIV infected individuals / immunocompromised) makes the most sense, however, that new paper on VOCs being able to infect rodents... Could be a huge undiscovered reservoir hiding too- because we aren't really looking outside humans. But I agree - much less likely, although I think we should becareful not to dismiss the possibility.

But yeah - untreated HIV infection seems like it would make a person a perfect incubator to generate variants.

Should look for SC2 antibodies in pets of C19 households - it shouldn't be too hard to find C19 households with cats, dogs and even ferrets [ferrets are surprisingly popular]. Just contact some vets.

Yes - this is shit - unlikely to have much if any real pushback in the 60min report I'm guessing - He'll be pushing the fact that the Chinese military is Shi's puppet master.
