Fair point. I doubt if the 3 hours the WHO spent at WIV yesterday is going to appease many people. Looks like they are on a well planned sightseeing tour of Wuhan. I'll have a look at the Google doc when you are done Bob

Francis and Tony are public figures. Actually it doesn't take too much to cross that line. Get you name written in anational publication or do a local TV Show and that's probably close to enough.

True. More importantly though, they're also the ones that will help this shit hole country get out of this mess. Then again, I guess we should require that, since they created the virus.

Unfortunately - and give Alina, Relman and a slew of others of the ilk "credit" where it's due- the left is alsoembracing the crazy. I've *completely reworked* the commentary re the new Bat CoVs and will update the google doc later today. THe version up there is way out of date.

I may have missed this because I can't keep up. In that cast of character mutations how many are true 'immune escape' mutations in that they enable to reinfection of hosts, how many emerged in humans with some sort of partial immune response (e.g. chronic infection), and how many are compensatory/epistatic for other mutations. So, isNellY permissive for EriK? Or is it all of the above?

Leif, Karen, and Erik most concerning in that regard - probably...

Q2. Is there any decent evidence of selection outside of the spike?
