The post about the PangoGD HV indel is VERY interesting [smart guy that Tommy] - not sure whether the vero cell passage sequence was posted or not [????}. This is VERY similar to SC2 backfilling indel region 4 after Vero possage (Karthik et al). There are different "evolutionary/selective" pressures in these indels when you take them out of humans/animals and put them in cell culture. Tommy should make his post ASAP - it's quite important andanticipate/backs up what we're saying. Meanwhile @Andrew Rambaut there's a bit in the Ruff draft that's almost done regarding our friend Yuri of blast alignment fame - can you check for appropriateness?
