This is VERY similar to SC2 backfilling indel region 4 after Vero possage (Karthik et al). There are different "evolutionary/selective" pressures in these indels when you take them out of humans/animals and put them in cell culture. Tommy should make his post ASAP - it's quite important and anticipate/backs up what we're saying.
