You share an important reagent for countermeasure development to the Chinese that's important early on in their response to a pandemic that's sweeping the world, and then they try to sell it back to U.S. scientists? What kind of crap is this? This is not ethical behavior. MS. SALAZAR: How did you find out? DR. BARIC: Matt Freeman sent me an email with a little thing saying, "Hey, the Chinese are selling your mice." MS. SALAZAR: And did you confront -- DR. BARIC: We did. I let the university know and we confronted them, yes, and they killed the mice, from what they told us. MS. SALAZAR: How many? DR. BARIC: I have no idea how many mice they killed. MS. SALAZAR: But, I mean, do you know who was doing it? DR. BARIC: Again, in the email list, the name of the company is listed. MR. LAMBETH: I think it was like Genentech, some form of Genentech, something like that. DR. BARIC: Yeah, I don't remember the name.
