Just for reference - a list of the various mutations that often come up. Also, an alignment with Jesse's sequences and some other relevant ones. Looking through all of this and reading the preprint a couple of times - this adds nothing. He found some deleted data, which is cool, but the reason for deletion has to do with fear of the CCP and them making it very clear they control everything - yes, not ideal, but welcome to the real world. Jesse's paper is hugely inflammatory. He didn't need to write it that way. Going to be a shit storm.

Agreed. He's so far down the conspiracy route and that's driving the language - he even thank those people in theacknowledgments...I mean, this is nice enough and impressive effort - plus I totally agree that it'd be very helpful to get all of those fully sequenced + metadata, but do we think that's going to happen after this paper...? Words matter.
