are not at risk. [2021-06-19 20:29:16] [Kristian Andersen] [thread - ID: 2021-06-19 20:29:16] I set up a pre-Zoom call for 11am PT tomorrow - Bob/Andrew, would that work for the two of you? I can move it earlier too. Eddie, I added you, but probably much too early on your end. [2021-06-19 21:01:47] [Kristian Andersen] I'll just leave these here with no comments. The intermediates very very likely don't exist - bioinformatics errors calling reference in regions with no coverage. [2021-06-19 21:12:25] [Kristian Andersen] [thread - ID: 2021-06-19 21:12:25] Sorry, one more... Too good. [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2021-06-19 at 9.06.48 PM.png] [2021-06-19 22:21:13] [Kristian Andersen] Just for reference - a list of the various mutations that often come up. Also, an alignment with Jesse's sequences and some other relevant ones. Looking through all of this and reading the preprint a couple of times - this adds nothing. He found some deleted data, which is cool, but the reason for deletion has to do with fear of the CCP and them making it very clear they control everything - yes, not ideal, but welcome to the real world. I would not be in those scientists' shoes - they're going to go through hell. [shared file(s): 2021.06.19_SARS-CoV-2_RaTG13 Bloom.geneious, early_muts.txt] [2021-06-19 22:23:29] [Eddie Holmes] Jesse's paper is hugely inflammatory. He didn't need to write it that way. Going to be a shit storm. [2021-06-19 22:25:29] [Kristian Andersen] Agreed. He's so far down the conspiracy route and that's driving the language - he even thank those people in the acknowledgments... I mean, this is nice enough and impressive effort - plus I totally agree that it'd be very helpful to get all of those fully sequenced + metadata, but do we think that's going to happen after this paper...? Words matter. [2021-06-19 22:41:52] [Eddie Holmes] The pangolin bit makes my blood boil - he's included irrelevant FOIAd emails from people with no chance of reply. A new low. [2021-06-19 23:25:28] [Eddie Holmes] I'm afraid - I won't make the Zoom tomorrow. Too early. Forgive me. [2021-06-20 00:51:53]
