List of names is good. If we could get Harald zur Hausen, Charlie Rice, Harold Varmus and Mike Bishop it would beawesome.

https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0022201 Interesting paper. I'll come back to it.

To DD points which is a good one, 6 of the 18 Bloomshitters (BS) were also members of the Cambridge Working Group (CWG)opposing GoF research. Notable non-overlap BS/CWG eDim and Mike Osterholm.

The CWG lost their battle to shut down dangerous virologists largely because of this counter: http://www.scientistsforscience.org/

This paragraph stuck our for me: "Scientists for Science have a range of opinions on how risk is best assessed. However, maintaining dogmatic positions serves no good purpose; only by engaging in open constructive debate can we learn from one another's experience. Most importantly, we are united as experts committed to ensuring public health is not compromised and the reputation of science in general, and microbiology in particular, is defended."

I don't think getting Baltimore and Alice Huang to sign our letter is out of the question. Worth offering since DB may want to correct the record and if he turns it down that's instructive. Back to the paper - since Jesse Bloom trainedwith DB I think it's even money that DB was offered a spot on BS and turned that down.

As for the paper itself and other JB-DB papers on H1N1- seriously WTF - a blueprint for making drug-resistant viruses and not a peep about DURC.

In addition to the Nobel prize virologists - I agree with @Eddie Holmes that getting EiC of virology journals is Very Good idea. Richard Kuhn, PhD - Editor-in-Chief - Virology' Rozanne M. Sandri-Goldin JVI, Linfa Wang Virology Journal (but there's the CoI thing) *Paul Duprex JGV.*
