This does seem a little incestuous: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/scientists-examine-possibility-covid-leaked-lab-part-investigation/

Yeah, having the Grand Wizard of EgoHealth lead that investigation is ridiculous - if there's any connection to the lab, Pete would be implicated (and probably already know about it).

Will only add fuel to the conspiracy theories. REALLY DUMB!
-
Yeah, that really doesn't make any sense - that's fishy as hell

Yeah, really seems dumb - definitely not the right person to do this no matter what.

Daszak even says that the conspiracy theorists won't be happy....I agree, but by calling them 'conspiracy theorists'he automatically undermines his claim to be going into the investigation with an 'open mind'.

We had our kick-off meeting with this new NIH CREID network today, which Peter is part of. I couldn't help but reference our 2018 Nature commentary right after his talk... He spend a lot of time saying how we'll "predict and prevent the next pandemic", I basically said "let's get real". He's so full of himself.
