Jesse's work is incredible. I had a quick look last night and it shows that there's still room for improvement in termsof better binding. Binding isn't everything though, so I wouldn't conclude it's "not as evolved" as previously thought -the binding is still very very strong (but.... so is the pangolin CoV, of course!).

@Andrew Rambaut have you had a look at the Beijing genomes? I haven't had a chance yet, but that looks like more diversity than expected? I have a hard time believing it has been circulating undetected for quite a while inBeijing, so could it be a virus than went human > animal > human? Clearly not a separate introduction, but it's again linked to a wet market so I'm wondering if it can bounce back and forth (surely this is possible based on e.g.the Dutch mink farms).
