Binding isn't everything though, so I wouldn't conclude it's "not as evolved" as previously thought - the binding is still very very strong (but.... so is the pangolin CoV, of course!). I have a hard time believing it has been circulating undetected for quite a while in Beijing, so could it be a virus than went human > animal > human? Clearly not a separate introduction, but it's again linked to a wet market so I'm wondering if it can bounce back and forth (surely this is possible based on e.g. the Dutch mink farms).
