Issues with focusing too much attention on "broad spectrum" in terms of broad activity may include the following - a) that such accomplishments may be difficult to achieve scientifically and b) that we will face the challenge we face with tiuse and uum that can commercially usable drugs, the tension between broad use leading to resistance development, vs.. preserving for resistance and MCM needs.
