Rob Knight has been doing a ton of surface sampling from hospital rooms, rooms with confirmed infections, etc. - teeny tiny amounts of RNA can be found. It's there - but not a lot. Finding a lot of virus RNA on grates would suggest active shedding - probably fecal.
