[Robert Garry] "Seems better than I imagined" Indeed -Eddie - you may have saved them with your "vacation" photos! [2021-03-09 19:09:41] [Robert Garry] "unlikely that that level of CoV RNA would be in those grates from human sources." Yes - the level that ppl find on hospital survaces with dozens of patents in a ward is tiny... [2021-03-09 19:16:02] [Kristian Andersen] Yeah, really good point. Rob Knight has been doing a ton of surface sampling from hospital rooms, rooms with confirmed infections, etc. - teeny tiny amounts of RNA can be found. It's there - but not a lot. Finding a lot of virus RNA on grates would suggest active shedding - probably fecal. [2021-03-09 19:17:16] [Robert Garry] WashPost spinning here. i'm guessing [hoping] White house are smart enough to figure this out - maybe with a little help from Kristian... [shared file(s): Opinion I The Biden administration conf...Wuhan lab claims - The Washington Post.pdf] [2021-03-09 19:18:27] [Kristian Andersen] Nope - I don't believe the current administration is going to be better on this particular point. Was very disappointed talking to Biden's office - they had already bought into the lab claims. [2021-03-09 19:19:51] [Robert Garry] Maybe that explains Lander not doing anything with Alina. Sad. [2021-03-09 19:23:47] [Robert Garry] But, I think they'll be other opportunities to set the record straight - plus the fact that there are closer viruses out there in nature. Just a question of whether Alina et al. can shut down the work before they are found. [2021-03-09 19:24:26] [Kristian Andersen] Oh, Josh Rogin.... It's amazing you can actually write a full article but without saying anything at all - pure word soup. [2021-03-09 19:35:39] [Eddie Holmes] So, the White House no nothing which means there is no security agency information on the lab escape. End of story. [2021-03-09 19:35:56] [Kristian Andersen] Yup - simple as that. [2021-03-09 19:36:53] [Kristian Andersen] One year in and not a single lead suggestion any connection to the lab - which is actually quite remarkable in the sense that they could cook _anything_ up to make it at least _appear_ to be related to lab escape. But they don't even have that. [2021-03-09 19:37:41] [Kristian Andersen]
