This idea that there was some sort of "lab leak suppression campaign" is preposterous and dangerous - I mean, why the FUCK would anybody outside China try to suppress that if we thought it were true? Just doesn't make any sense. People have lost their minds. Period.

    FWIW Farrar and Fauci did _exactly_ as they were supposed to do - take somewhat outlandish claims very seriously, launched a scientific investigation, alerted the relevant entities, and then stepped back to let science bescience. A+ effort.
