In the 60 Minutes Australia piece that's coming with Nikolai Petrovsky et al. I'm definitely on tape saying lab origins are conspiracy theories.

Bloom, Bedford, Rasmussen etc were backed into a corner by Alina. Binary choice - investigate or not investigate "lab origins." Not really a choice - you can't say don't consider it at all - though some of our peers on the Jan20 phone calls and in the peer review thought we shouldn't (and FWIW that review - oh origins is going to be out of date topic shortly - is not looking too prescient in hindsight.) Not defending the other Origins comments Bloom and Bedford have made - pretty disappointing.

And, another good point Andrew. Not at all plausible. If Shi had had the progenitor she would have revealed that instead of RaTG13. Game over. We'd have never written PO1.

Dazsak/market/clues? Unless there's literally a "smoking" raccoon dog or other positive animal I'm not to hopeful that trail goes very far. It's pretty old ground too - I think it's fairly well settled that there were cases before the Market cases. It's not much but perhaps the WHO team could put to rest the SC2 came into Wuhan on a frozen fishpackage "theory." About as likely as that other "theory" that space aliens sent SC2 to us on a meteor.
