    The question is whether the progenitor of SC2 is endemic in Chinese pangos or Malaysian ones and is being imported. I think Chinese pangos are pretty thin on the ground these days for obvious reasons.

    Good points Andrew - China imports a LOT of pangos from Africa too, so we're on a full court press to see if we can find any pango covs there...

    The Yunnan pango sequence is close to those from Guangxi. Serology suggests positive animals in Thailand and Malaysia (i.e. Tommy).
