Yeah, I have a REALLY hard time seeing how George wouldn't have known (I think it was the interview with Zhang where it was mentioned? And btw - Zhang = Times 100, which is pretty cool!)

He bloody knew. No doubt. Yes, I was the go-between with TIME and Zhang. I told him not to do it - I thought there might be trouble - but his ego got the better of him.

Zhang has now been booted out of China CDC and is now full-time in Shanghai. George is absolutely furious with him for stealing his glory. At the end of the day, it's allo about ego.
