Just a had a thought: for the GVP to work they would have to sequence gazillions of viruses. Then, to work out which of these might infect humans, they would then have to test them all in a range of human cells. We previously pointed out the crazy enormity of this task. But, it's not just size: what they are effectively proposed are 100,000s ofGoF experiments for viruses that could potentially infect humans. Even if we don't think the virus came out of a lab, surely this is now an unacceptable risk?
