Good plan.
-
it's up.

Great! I've just been in a plane for 17 hours. Currently in transit in Darwin.
-
THat's a lot of travel. I'm loooking forward maybe someday to getting back my wings too.
-
After finishing up the current papers might be worth parking this somewhere in an actual manuscript.
-
Travel is not what it was. I'm definitely not going back to the old days.

NO surprise that the indel regions of Spike are all in the surface exposed loops shown here in spheres. These regions probably also define "blocks" that can be exchanged in and out during recombination. [shared file(s): image.png]

The core structures of the protein - that can be seen here as either beta sheet sandwiches or alpha helices are MUCH less variable. Again no surprise, but sets limits on how much Spike can vary.

@Eddie Holmes hope you're still OK with having a cameo on the maybe Science cover. [shared file(s): 2022.04.04_garry lab cover_render.pdf]

That is amazing!!
-
Ha, I love it

Glad you like it - we went through several versions - ultimately going with a close-up of the Wall of crazy - my originalsketch was too much like a Where's Waldo and too much insider stuff (although I liked it). Science would not have liked animals in cages on the cover. [shared file(s): Garry Lab Science Cover_Detail_Concepts v2 (2).pdf]
