   If the change in the FCS makes it somehow better able to infect the upper airways this could impact spread. Mightbe reflected in lower Ct values in nasal swabs.

   Doug's (D614G) daughter Nancy (N501Y) is certainly interesting - the deletion in the NTD along with the change near/in the RBD plus the rare FCS mutation are very likely driving some phenotype.

   Yes - I am really convinced it is spreading because of these mutations not despite. And I am usually very cautious. Iam keeping my eye on a lineage with N501Y and none of the other mutations that is also spreading in the UK.
