[Kristian Andersen] That is so weird - no, not me... But we're only four faculty at SRTI!!! [2020-06-09 20:40:11] [Kristian Andersen] What's the link? [2020-06-09 21:14:44] [Eddie Holmes] It's on the BBC rolling news thing (13:15 time spot). They spelt Scripps wrong: https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-52988840 [2020-06-09 21:30:54] [Eddie Holmes] Yet more to enjoy [shared file(s): Sharri Wuhan Lab 6 June 2020.pdf] [2020-06-09 21:41:57] [Kristian Andersen] So idiotic.... there is NOTHING in that origin 'study' - nothing. Topol must be the quoted scientist on the BBC. Have you seen the actual study? Link doesn't work (really disappointed by Brownstein here - seriously, do you think they could cover this up if all of this massively ramped up in August? What about the genetic data? So dumb) [2020-06-10 09:42:39] [Robert Garry] https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/09/conspiracies-covid-19-lab-false-pandemic?CMP=share_bt n_tw "Writing in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Medicine, researchers strongly refuted the idea that the code had been purposefully manipulated. Whereas the article in Nature Medicine_ _was written by senior virologists, one author, John Fredrik Moxnes, the chief scientific adviser to the Norwegian military, has already withdrawn his name from the paper cited by Dearlove - while scientists from the Francis Crick institute and Imperial College London also dismissed its conclusions." I think he's calling us old, but whatever.... [2020-06-10 14:22:06] [Eddie Holmes] Good, but shame it is Daszak as he is hardly impartial. Even curefinder would have been preferable. [2020-06-10 14:47:14] [Kristian Andersen] He manages to turn even this one into advertising for EgoHealth. The man's got no shame. [2020-06-10 16:03:39] [Eddie Holmes] I know, it's putrid. [2020-06-10 17:36:17] [Kristian Andersen] [thread - ID: 2020-06-10 17:36:17] Sharing this confidentially - from a colleague here at Scripps. Using a pseudotyped assay, G614 infects cells much more efficiently than D614. @Andrew Rambaut - any further insights on the epi from the UK data? (I got a paper from Nature for review on this mutation too - but it was too light). [shared file(s): Manuscript Figures_20200602_Final.pdf] [2020-06-10 19:02:19] [Eddie Holmes]
