They pretty much nailed the conclusions: "Urgent studies are necessary to determine whether reinfection with newly
emerging lineages harboring the mutation S:E484K is a widespread phenomenon or is limited to a few sporadic
cases. It will also be crucial to understand the extent to which reinfection contributes to the forward transmission of
SARS-CoV-2 in previously exposed populations and the rising number of SARS-CoV-2 cases observed in
Amazonas and other Brazilian states during December 2020 - January 2021."

I had nothing to do with that press release... just saying.

I enjoyed this one Kristian - I like 'The Godfather' puppet hands: [shared file(s): Er8lx6aXAAArjog.jpg]

Yeah, the hand is a really nice touch. I assume we fall in the "enables" category?

We do. We are being controlled. I think 'chilling accusations' should be a subheading in PO2.

OK - L452R - what do we think? Just chasing variants?

On the watch list but no more at this point

Yes, hand is very good - maybe Alina can borrow it for her next wall of crazy/WSJ article. "I assume we fall in the
"enables" category?" Maybe more like super-elite? Both? Dunno. Have to say that "monitoring mutation areas for
projected lethality" does describe the coming virological post pretty well.

I'm pretty sure L452R is no LuthoR or LucifeR. I suppose it could be a LesteR.

[Kristian Andersen]
Definitely too early with L452R and I'm annoyed that they put out a press release with no data and before we could
actually get a close look at what's going on.
The concern I have is that they mentioned this was found in three skilled nursing facility outbreaks with 100% attack
rates - if true, then absolutely concerning, but I don't know how good the data is. I should know tomorrow.
To the UK variant - this is not great... https://twitter.com/guptar_lab/status/1351181784776634370?s=21

Now I'm getting concerned. [shared file(s): Image from iOS.jpg]
