Yeah - the banter was fun. But I would much prefer randos not paying any attention to it. I will start a shadow account with protection on and offer a premium service to my elite followers.

The banter WAS fun - I really do desperately miss the days where Nick Loman was the only one who actually had followers and the rest of us were just trolling Nick. Good times. I'd suggest setting up a random anno account and just follow the few scientists you actually enjoy following (like Nick...) - that way you can still get some of the good aspects of Twitter, while not having to engage at all. As abonus, you don't _have_ to follow the other scientists that you don't really want to follow, but you _kinda_ have towhen it's your normal account. Sadly, people like myself fall into that latter category because I tweet too much and it's sad - maybe I should change that .

Thinking of this - I'm wondering if we should set up a larger Slack channel and include the rest of the gang? You probably already have something similar with ARTIC?
-
Yeah - I will create an anonymous follow account. Obviously will create a stir amongst the leakers/conspiracy nuts which will be amusing.

I could be fun to have a mega slack just for banter with a large group from twitter

Another reason to leave Twitter: https://tech.slashdot.org/story/22/04/14/1034242/elon-musk-offers-to-buy-twitter-for-41-billion?utm_source=slashdot&utm_medium=twitter

Yeah, let's get a bigger mega Slack. I'll ping Nick about it. And yes, so Elon's going to buy it - good time to exit.
