Speaking of papers - both are getting there. Titles of both are much better now (-thanks to @Andrew Rambaut and @Eddie Holmesfor key inspirations... Like the titles both papers could use some tightening and focus before submissions. One of the hardest things to learn as a scientist is that some of that data that you slaved over is not really that interesting and needs to be put in the supplement so it supports but doesn't obscure the main points.
