Here, I updated it:~Since~ It has been a little over one year since the first reports of a novel pneumonia (COVID-19)in Wuhan city, Hubei province, China. ~there has been~ Despite considerable discussion, ~and~ uncertaintyremains over the origin of the causative virus, SARS-CoV-2. Infections with SARS-CoV-2 are now widespread ~inChina~, with cases in every ~province~ country in the world. As of ~14 February 2020~ 23 January, 2021, ~64,473~over 98 million such cases have been confirmed, with ~1,384~ over 2.1 million deaths attributed to the virus. These official case numbers are likely an underestimate because of limited reporting of mild and asymptomatic cases~.~ ~and~ As the virus ~is~ has spread through the human population new variants have arisen that are clearly morecapable of efficient human-to-human transmission. ~Based on the possibility of spread to countries with weakerhealthcare systems, the World Health Organization has declared~ The COVID-19 ~outbreak~ pandemic remains achallenging International Public Health Emergency ~of International Concern (PHEIC)~. ~There are currently neither~ Vaccines ~nor~ and specific treatments for this disease, such as monoclonal antibody immunotherapeutics, have been developed with unprecedented speed; however, continued adaptation of SARS-CoV-2 to humans nowchallenges the efficacy of these new countermeasures.

Think we could sell it to a good journal as the opening paragraph of PO2? Seems to me the new viruses cross a data threshold to at least put some of the more prevalent "theories" back in their graves.

Holy crap - from a bad residue P to a better sometimes positive H, to a way, way better always positive R. PRRAR (minimal FCS) ---> HRRAR (still minimal FCS, but better) ---> RRRAR (still "minimal FCS, but getting much better). NOT a good trend.
