The GOP is harassing me yet again so I had a quick look at our Feb 4 and Feb 6 drafts. This is kinda funny, but inour Feb 4 draft we mention "conspiracy theories" (probably referring to the HIV insertion preprint, but there were alot of other crazy shit out there at the time), however, in our Feb 6 draft we _specifically_ removed that word. So, yet again, we actually did the opposite of what the Leakers are accusing us of. I'll let them know that Tony and Francis suggested we take it out . [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2022-01-24 at 13.21.04.png, Screen Shot2022-01-24 at 13.21.16.png]

And now we know who the anti-conspiracy theorist is :bald_man:. [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2022-01-24 at 13.28.33.png]

A lot of good decisions were made during the writing of PO1 - it will indeed hold up very well.

I'm still amazed at how on-point we were so quickly. We must have worked hard at the time...

How are the GOP harrassing you?
  6. 2022-01-24 14:10 Kristian G. Andersen open PDF p.1074
JAQing off is what they're doing... Got two emails this morning to appear at "staff meetings", including from good oldComer and Jordan. Talking to our outside council on Wednesday to figure out how best to deal with this.

    I assume you can decline?
  8. 2022-01-24 14:30 Kristian G. Andersen open PDF p.1074
Absolutely, but the problem is that once they take the House (in November) they'll subpoena me (and Bob) and _that_ I/we cannot decline. That being a legal process, they could also obtain all our documents, emails, etc. - so the game we're playing right now is to be helpful enough such that we can defuse future developments. It's very tricky.

I'd put them off for as long as possible. There's nothing in any of this and who knows what we will be debating inNovember. 10 months is long time in politics.

That's unfortunately not how these things work - once they take the House they'll look at all the various requests and say "alright folks, what's missing". This'll be on top of their list for certain (several of the folks we have on outside council have worked in the House - on both sides - so they have good intel). Hoping it'll go away is like hoping COVID-19 will go away - it won't, and if they get cross, it only gets worse. I'll keep you posted on what I learn on Wednesday.

I'm not saying it will go away but I wouldn't give them anything now. I don't see what that achieves. My University will want all my emails redacted.

They won't be getting any emails, that's for sure.

(unless they later request them via a subpoena - then all bets are off)
