Pretty much sure the MRCA of all circulating viruses we have sample so far was one or other of the two original haplotypes. But seems likely to me that it came in to wuhan from somewhere else in China.

@Andrew Rambaut Could be something to touch on in the PO2. Some of the RBD mutations we have seen recently (eg mink) are actually reversions to the bat residues.

@Andrew Rambaut Yeah, I definitely think this is something to touch on - I have been intrigued by this question for along time, but haven't had time to take a closer look (plus, I'm really not the best to look at this question in any case).
