Thanks - crazy - hopefully Zeta just an annoyance, but sure to chew up an inordinate amt of time.

Yeah. This really sucks. Dumb. I like the note: 'Whereas all authors agreed on the final manuscript, not every author agrees on every point in the paper.'

@Eddie Holmes The only virus I can think of that alters host behaviour to enhance transmission is rabies and that ispretty extreme (and a hardly a subtle action).

COVID has put to light the things that desperately need to change/die. PNAS is on that list. Demagogues too. And Stanford.

I'd add to Kristian's list TV science "experts" [especially those that fake the disease they are spreading disinformation about], outbreak culture in general and - related to the latter - "science" by Zenado/internet [Yan}/twitter {Chan}. The current iterations of CDC, FDA and WHO also need many changes... As for the PNAS article it's about as useful as the "COVID came from snakes or on a meteorite" papers.

I'm all for science _messaging_ on twitter, but yes, this whole science _by twitter_ gotta stop - it's ridiculous. Ibelieve a certain Fred Hutch researcher hopefully learned that as well...
