[Kristian Andersen] It's amazing what a couple of SNPs can do  [2020-06-04 17:26:41] [Andrew Rambaut] So what does Trevor think about the new proof of lab origins paper? He going to come out supporting it? Sure way to hit the 1m followers. [2020-06-04 17:26:51] [Kristian Andersen] One has to wonder how much noise there is in the dataset by now - between sequencing (including amplicon and RT) errors and contaminants. Probably ~10% of genomes are wrong. [2020-06-04 17:27:24] [Kristian Andersen] Haha, Trevor was pretty shocked by how terrible the paper was - but yeah, he should come out and rebuff us to get to a cool million. [2020-06-05 11:42:49] [Kristian Andersen] [thread - ID: 2020-06-05 11:42:49] Different virus, but this new RTT plot for Ebola is super interesting. @Andrew Rambaut have you been looking into this? Different reservoir host? Will need to add this new one in. [2020-06-05 11:50:46] [Kristian Andersen] [thread - ID: 2020-06-05 11:42:49] @Kristian Andersen Yup. Super interesting - I had never really thought of this as a lineage thing, more as independent events. Strongly suggesting there might be different strains of Ebola virus living in different reservoirs - either due to geographical differences, or differences in the virus host range. This screams for a formal analysis  [2020-06-05 12:23:59] [Robert Garry] <file:///Users/robertgarry/Downloads/elife-58603-v1%20(1).pdf> [2020-06-05 12:25:26] [Robert Garry] This is kinda interesting as well.
