Isn't it funny that the indel with the really important site is somehow super mysterious to the tinfoil hats, while the many other indels aren't? [2021-02-20 16:06:08] [Kristian Andersen] Looks great Bob - ready to post from my standpoint. [2021-02-20 16:10:47] [Eddie Holmes] Bob - can I have one more look over it today? Then post tomorrow? [2021-02-20 16:13:52] [Eddie Holmes] I think the WIV is totally off the agenda for the WHO. My contacts say that the Chinese have been not looking into either. Let's face it, identifying a lab weak from WIV is a Yale lock with a credit card for the security services and yet they have fuck all. [2021-02-20 16:52:18] [Andrew Rambaut] Sorry to keep doing this to you Bob but have you any thoughts on A701V ? Close enough to FCS to have an effect? [2021-02-20 16:52:33] [Andrew Rambaut] Or just a nothing. [2021-02-20 17:24:05] [Robert Garry] No problem at all - please keep the questions coming. I think the A701V could just be random. A to V a pretty conservative change, but A82V in Ebola virus was a pretty big deal. It's in the region between S1/S2 and S2' so it gets "cut out" during entry - some thoughts that the cutout peptide could have some "activity." Maybe, but it could just be a "spacer," Not close enough to the FCS to have an effect. [2021-02-20 18:44:02] [Eddie Holmes] [thread - ID: 2021-02-20 18:44:02] Paper looks good to post Bob. There are just 2 comments left which I think are resolved but you can judge. Do we need an Abstract? Perhaps not for a post? [2021-02-21 05:23:15] [Robert Garry] Thanks all! It does look great and good strong counterpoints to the lab origins mob (hey look at the science). Will make the final edits when I get to the office a bit later this morning. One final minor point- will add the Alina ref, per Kristian, but then should also add Petrovsky I think ???
