I've no idea. The Telegraph claim that the WIV deleted files etc. No idea how they got this info. The story is here (scroll down a bit) but it's paywalled I'm not paying a cent to this Murdoch-based bunch of shits: https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ [2020-05-08 05:11:39] [Robert Garry] Hopefully the end - well done Eddie! [2020-05-08 16:41:39] [Eddie Holmes] This article sums it all up: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2020/may/08/murdoch-media-china-coronavirus-con spiracy-trump-kevin-rudd?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other [2020-05-08 16:43:44] [Eddie Holmes] The Telegraph are now going to write a story about one my papers rather than me (as they've decided I'm clean). Sending me the questions tomorrow. It will doubtless attempt to say there is a cover-up. I might just ignore them. [2020-05-09 02:40:15] [Robert Garry] I think Judy Mikovits just declared victory - she got a new profile article in Science - oh yeah they put a lot of so-called facts in there but nevertheless Science! [2020-05-09 02:40:17] [Robert Garry] https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/05/fact-checking-judy-mikovits-controversial-virologist-attacking-anthony-fa uci-viral [2020-05-09 17:18:33] [Eddie Holmes] That was some take-down. Fab. [2020-05-10 05:44:35] [Robert Garry] The Mikovits saga is actually relevant today in another way. Here is another long-read version describing the controversy before Ian got involved: https://science.sciencemag.org/content/sci/333/6050/1694.full.pdf I remember because - This "seems very unlikely and may indicate contamination, despite the evidence presented to the contrary," the referee warned. That referee was me - based on my "PCR might get contaminated" experience with the Robt R (see Hooper above). I was the only ref of the three to vote reject. Eventually _Science_ published the paper anyway (later retracted) and one of the refs wrote a commentary that - in retrospect - was not helpful. Where the heck is he going with this rambling trip down memory lane you may ask. It's the French "NCoV-19" from December - not so much a contamination issue _per se_, but another shortcoming of PCR. Where's the cutoff? Rarely asked. What does a Ct above 30 really mean? Is there anything real there? Probably yes sometimes and probably no sometimes. Kristian said it - got to have a sequence - they have sequencers in France right? [2020-05-10 08:46:02] [Robert Garry] Apparently they can't keep the book in stock...Jeez [shared file(s): image.png] [2020-05-10 08:46:50] [Robert Garry] Speaking of totally lost it.
