NIH Police will escort car to Bldg. 10 South Entrance

Mrs. Gates arrives at the south entrance of Building 10 and is welcomed by Dr. Collins,
Dr. Fauci, and NIH Library and FAES staff.
11:55 am
Mrs. Gates escorted to FAES suite for lunch.
12:00 pm
Lunch, FAES suite (Bldg. 10/Room 1N241) -- possible options:

Postdoctoral fellows with interest in global health research
•
Senior NIH leadership with focus on maternal/child health, reproductive health
12:45 pm Lunch ends. Dr. Collins returns.

NIH Photographer takes photographs with Dr. Collins, Mrs. Gates, NIH Library
Director, FAES Director at FAES Suite
12:50 pm
Proceed to Masur Auditorium, Green Room
12:57 pm Dr. Collins and Mrs. Gates exit the Green Room and receive their lavaliere microphones.
1:00 pm Dr. Collins introduces the NIH Big Read and Mrs. Gates.

NIH Photographer takes photos during the event
1:05 pm Dr. Collins and Mrs. Gates proceed to center stage and take their seats for discussion. If
desired, Mrs. Gates may begin with a 15 - 20 minute presentation. Or can go straight to
a conversation and Q&A. Questions will come from Dr. Collins, NIH staff (pre-selected),
book discussion groups, and Facebook Live.
2:00 pm The discussion ends. Dr. Collins escorts Mrs. Gates out of Masur's side door and up the
hallway to the FAES terrace for the meet and greet, book signing, and reception.

3:00 pm
The meet and greet ends. Mrs. Gates proceeds to NIH Library for thank you from the
from NIH Library and FAES staff.

3:15 pm
The NIH Big Read ends and the NIH Library staff escort Mrs. Gates to Building 10 south
lobby, where her driver is waiting to pick her up.
