Niang liaises with US and Malian government and NGO entities, the MSC, the intramural program, and extramural grantees. The NIAD/NIH Mali staff is composed of the following individuals: 1. Mali Service Center development In 2004 a Decree was signed by the University of Bamako and NIAID stating that there was agreement on the development of a Mali Service Center (MSC), supported by NIAID, to assist Mali in their management of extramural funds with the idea of training and developing capacity for the MSC to be fully owned by Malians and the University of Bamako in the near future. The MSC is currently located on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine close to all of NIAID's programs and is run by an NIAID contractor, the Mitchell Group. All extramural grants with monies going to Mali are required to use the MSC. 6.
