17 August 2020 Data Summary
The case stall is primarily driven by rising cases in the yellow states esp
CA and continued high casesin GA, M5, ID
Highest daily cases per population AL(22/ 100,000), AR (15/100,00), FL (29/100,000), GA (29/100,000), 1D (24,'100,000),
MS (25/'100,00), NY (24/'100,000),
SC (20/100,000) and TX (25/100,000)
New hospital admissions remain at a high plateau withoul declines-- current rate 34 May rates
Deaths are increasing due to substantial
spread into communities with high co-morbiditles
(esp the South) and LTCF
and will continue to accelerated over the next weeks without containmentof the LTCF spread
US deaths
/ population will continue
to rise and we will pass all European countries except Belgium in the most fatalities
normalized per population
Increasing evidence of long term morbidities related to heartand long damage from COVID infection
-- across age
proups-- one should not trivialize these consequences.as we will see more evidence of this damage as survival rates
improve and with our case burden
Continued improvements continue across the Sunbelt red states but mot the West Coast with cases in CA, OR, WA
Strong mitigation mustcontinue
te States with improvements in the Sunbeltto drive cases dawn ta less than 5/100,000
and test positivity less than 3% to contain community spread and prevent surge in mortality throughout
the fall-- gains
are fragile and creating another round of substantial community spread before the fall will further accelerate
hospitalizations and deaths

I continue to be kept out of the classic press but am getting in through indirect
ways. Still have >1000 deaths per day. Scott Atlas now the main person that
Trump listens to. I have reached out to Scott to give him a fair chance to explain
to me exactly how he feels about children getting infected and the issues with
letting community spread happen. We obviously differ here. He and White
House feel that we can let children get infected in schools since they do not get
sick and we just need to protect the vulnerable in Nursing Homes. Fallacious
thinking since there are many not in Nursing Homes who are vulnerable such as
obese people, diabetics, hypertensives, etc. ALSO, many reports coming out now
about long term cardiovascular and brain effects in younger people who were not
