I was honored at the home of the French Ambassador to the United States (2221 Kalorama Road, NW) where I received the Pasteur Medal commemorating the bicentenary of Louis Pasteur's birth in 1822. Only a dozen medals are given this year being awarded to leading scientists, benefactors, philanthropists, and representatives of several countries. The stock of metals will be exhausted by the end of 2022 and no other metals will be minted. It was very much of a love fest with a very nice presentation of the metal to me by doctor Stewart Cole who is the Director of the Pasteur. Ambassador Philippe Etienne was very gracious and a very nice person. They sang my praises and we had a very elegant dinner. Very rainy and cold night. Janet Tobias was there.
