Later in the day I took off for New York City to receive the Yitzhak Rabin lifetime medical Leadership Award given by American Friends of Rabin Medical Center at the Plaza Hotel. Before I got there it was somewhat of a harrowing experience since I was recognized walking from the Hilton Hotel on 6th Ave and 52nd St to the Plaza Hotel on 59th St and 5th Ave. I was beset by a horde of at least 20 paparazzi who followed me from 6th Ave to 5th Ave walking backwards surrounding me and flashing lights that blinded me. That has never happened to me before and is a full warning of what I'm going to have to expect. I absolutely must have security protection or I am going to be in deep trouble.
