But are you aware of that? DR. BARIC: Well, if I was on the email then I was aware of it. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. Do you recall it? DR. BARIC: No. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. DR. BARIC: I recall that there was an issue about a grant that they wanted added. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. DR. BARIC: And that was in 2015. So that's what I must have recalled. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. But it wasn't added. Was there any reason why you would not have added it at that time? DR. BARIC: Not that I know of. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. So here's the email. Your response is dated November 7, 2015, and it's back to Dr. Shi. [Exhibit No. 1 shown.] MS. SALAZAR: And you asked her, "Was work performed under these grants?" So did she not answer? Because it looks like the initial email was from Peter Daszak that same day and it says, "Urgent. Please acknowledge USAID
