SALAZAR: The journal or -- DR. BARIC: That would be me. MS. SALAZAR: Do you have to get anything approved with the NIH or anything? DR. BARIC: No. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. So did you make the request? DR. BARIC: Sure. MS. SALAZAR: And do you know why you made it at that time? DR. BARIC: The other author wanted me to add the grant to the line, and they said they'd forgotten it. I had to reason to disbelieve them. MS. SALAZAR: And was it Zhengli Shi? DR. BARIC: I think -- this is the AID grant? MS. SALAZAR: Yes. DR. BARIC: I would guess it's Peter Daszak. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. And so we have a document that shows that Peter Daszak asked for that, for Zhengli Shi to acknowledge that grant back in 2015. DR. BARIC: And she didn't. MS. SALAZAR: Right.
