DC.Scheduling@LexitasLegal.com Peter Daszak during that time, when did you start working with Peter Daszak? You had a relationship with him. DR. BARIC: I got to meet him around 2004. I can't tell you exactly when. I mean, scientific meetings, you run into people all the time. But I would guess it would start around 2014 we ran into a meeting, I think at the NEIDL together, and had some discussions. And I visited his place afterwards. We had common interests, but we didn't effectively start working together until later in 2014, on some of the work on the 2015 paper, that was published in Nature Medicine. MS. SALAZAR: Okay. BARIC: I mean, from my perspective, and just looking at it from a scientific perspective, he made major contributions into identifying emerging infectious disease hotspots around the world.
