Hi Francis, I did review and the only additions I offered were the HPV post licensure vaccine trial and the new African postdoctoral fellowship program, to bring more African trainees to our intramural labs. The group relied on the Gates Foundation awards data base to identify the Foundation's publicly accessible funding commitments for joint projects with NIH. Also, I'm digging out info on the Gates contribution to the WorldReport database maintenance (although this would be modest expenditure compared to the collaborative projects Larry has outlined) The Gates Foundation and ICs have made parallel investments surrounding some of the NIH/BMGF working group initiatives, but the funding is not easily sourced (e.g., the contraceptive targets database). We would need to confer with ICs to assemble reliable estimates Based on the intent of the request, I would be happy to provide any additional info that might be of use in your response. As one example, NIH and the Gates Foundation have cooperated in the development of such transformative global health interventions as MenAfriVac and the rapid TB diagnostic- Xpert MTB/RIF. NIH cooperation with the Foundation extends to eleven ICs, etc Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
