No. No one in the United States had MERS 422. We synthetically resurrected it in my lab.

I don't believe anyone had it. I would have to review the Chinese papers again that were published. The Chinese published a couple of papers on different MERS strains. I don't think they used 422, and I don't think they made molecular clones for either of them.
