Okay. And then what about Ian Lipkin?
  2. 2026-04-10 09:00 Ralph S. Baric open
Yeah, another good friend from Columbia University. But what's the question?
  3. 2026-04-10 09:00 Christina Salazar open
So my understanding is that he also worked out of the Wuhan CDC at times.

Ian Lipkin, you'd have to look at his CV, but I believe he received a medal from China for his efforts in the original 2003 SARS coronavirus outbreak, helping them bring it under control. So he is also, not really a viral ecologist. He really does virus discovery, very interested in post-responses to viral infections. He's a global leader in really, I guess, the last 15 years, developing new technologies for rapid detection of unknown pathogens in the environment.

He told me he'd worked extensively with people in China during the 20- -- I didn't ask him details DC.Scheduling@LexitasLegal.com about whether it was with Wuhan Institute of Virology or not. Again, he would be the person you'd need to ask that of.

And then going back real quick to the RO1 grant. You weren't an official collaborator, or PI, co-PI, until later on. But you did provide a letter of support --
  8. 2026-04-10 09:00 Ralph S. Baric open
    Yes.
  9. 2026-04-10 09:00 Christina Salazar open
-- for the initial grant in 2014. Is that right?
