Just to let you know - My FOI-refusal has been appealed (no surprises) so for this stage the Information Commissioner needs to see the emails (they will not be released from there - if they overturn the refusal then itwould come back to us for redaction etc.). Yup. And to be honest - this whole email thread clearly shows that he played _no_ role in shaping or editing the paper. He had the chance to chime in with substantial suggestions/edits, and he didn't.
