I agree there is nothing harmful in the now famous emails re the Feb 1 conference - most of it is public knowledge anyway withe perhaps the exception of Fouchier's summary - again not harmful.

I also appreciate the point about protecting the harm defense. As much as the Leakers - the anonymous and occasionally anonymous ones - would like to say we attacked them - it's the opposite. Alina and Blooms attacks onus and other scientists have been brutal. I guess this is where Jeremy is coming from, but yes it could backfire, just opening more worm cans.

Tulane like Scripps is a private institution. That offers some defense against FoIA. No one can demand internal emails. However, our communications with gov entities like NIH are exceptions and subject to FoIA. I've been FoIA'dmany times regarding NIH grants as a form of harassment instigated by covidfaker. NIH gets the same request and they have to comply - what happens is that they redact everything except for the title and abstract of the grant. Still the harassment works - it makes the NIH ppl uncomfortable and wastes a lot of time.

There's another restriction on the FoIA requests - releasing the information unredacted requires the permission ofEVERYONE on the emails and other documents.

Thus, when covidfaker gets a slimeball journo to FoIA some of my federal grants (at least 5 times) ppl like Pardis/Harvard also have to sign off. Hence with a stroke of a pen covidfaker puts into play a lot of time wasted forme, tulane, nih and my collaborators.

back to Jeremy - this I feel is another place where Peter Daszak hasn't helped out - by orchestrating that first Lancet letter - that JF signed - it makes it look like our FEb 1 call was part of some massive conspiracy to hide SC2 originsat the WIV.

Also, of course Daszak - orchestrated by Metzl is under heavy fire to be fired - I suspect he''ll pull what Nathan Wolfe did when Metabiota/Fair's role in screwing up the response to Ebola in WA became evident - THey said just wait itwill blow over. IthinkPD and step down as head of EgoHealth by retain some title like CSO.

Also i think the resignation of Francis was not coincidence. THere's a better than even chance that the Republicans will take over midterm and who knows if TRump or some Trump clone gets the presidency inn 2024. Imagine someone like Relman or worse put in charge of NIH.
